The 2007-2008 Exultate Concert Season
Our 12th Year
Clear your calendar for wonderful music!
- Chamber Classics
(Chamber Classics concerts are now completed - join us at a future performance.)
Exultate presents its annual Chamber Classics concert with works by W. A. Mozart, J. S. Bach, Purcell, Haydn, Lotti, Byrd and others.
Hear the Haydn double cello concerto played by Exultate's cellist and his son. Experience the technical
agility of Exultate's 1st trumpet player in Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2.
Witness the sublime sounds of Renaissance and Baroque choral music of Byrd, Purcell and Lotti.
We also will invite the
2007 Minnesota All-State Lutheran Choir to perform on the concert. This fabulous High School Choir is the summer youth program of Exultate.
They had a stellar concert tour of 14 performances during June so we have invited them to gather again and bring their fine
singing to the Exultate stage. They will perform several wonderful selections and then join the professional singers
in what will be a memorable and moving performance of Stanford's Beati Quorum Via and
J. S. Bach's Alles was odem hat, a must hear event.
- Tidings of Joy - Christmas Festival
(Christmas Festival concerts are now completed - join us at a future performance.)
Favorite and traditional carols in unique arrangements for voices and instruments.

An Advent Triptych which includes music reflecting on the acting and words of three Biblical characters.
It promises to be a very moving and poignant introduction to the Christmas Season.

- B Minor Mass - Johann Sebastian Bach
(The B Minor Mass concerts are now completed - join us at a future performance.)
Extra singers are needed for these concerts. (Click here if you are interested in auditioning for the Festival Choir.)
The monumental B Minor Mass of Johann Sebastian Bach will be performed with the Exultate Festival Choir and Orchestra.
This work, the pinnacle of choral music, was one of the final works written by the great master. In fact, it really
is the summation of his entire output of choral repertoire. The magnificent creation of movement after movement woven together
to form the five chief parts of the Mass must be experienced. In addition to the music, Bach's very own personal Bible will be on display
along with other artifacts and a marvelous display of his life, his faith and the B Minor Mass. (Your ticket to the concert also
allows you to view the Bible and other artifacts.) NOTE: The Bible is not a reproduction, it is the real thing!
Don't miss the opportunity to hear the greatest choral work ever written along with a fabulous exhibit of personal items from
the composer and about his work.
These performances are made possible, in part, by a generous grant from the
Metropolitan Regional Arts Council through funds provided by the Minnesota State Legislature and the McKnight Foundation.
A generous grant has also been received from Thrivent Financial For Lutherans to aid in the display of the Bach Bible.
- Alleluia from around the World
Join us as we explore different musical styles from other countries. Hear joyful music from other lands.
Included on the program will be the incredibly exciting Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein - a work
with vibrant rhythms, soaring vocal lines and melodies which will stay with you. Other works for instruments and
instruments with voices will be performed. Don't miss the final concert of this stellar year!
